Michelle Moses – Founder

Michelle Moses is the Founder of Stagezone Youth Theatre.

Michelle has been involved with the theatre and performance all her life. She studied music and drama at school. She has performed leading roles with Truro Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society and Redruth Amateur Operatic Society.

Michelle has performed at the Hall for Cornwall, The Minack Theatre, The Regal Theatre, Redannick Theatre and Trelissick Gardens.  Michelle played the part of Madame Thernardier in a masterclass performance of Les Miserables. This was at the Palace Theatre in London. She worked with John Owen Edwards and James Powell.   Michelle has won many music festivals in Cornwall. She sang light opera and musical theatre songs. She was the vocal champion in the Cornwall County Music Festival in the 1990s.

Michelle has played many leading roles. These include Ruth in “The Pirates of Penzance,” the title role in “Iolanthe,” and Reno in “Anything Goes.” She also played Kate in “Kiss Me Kate” and Mrs Brice in “Funny Girl.” Other roles are Bridget in “A Chorus of Disapproval” and Fraulein Schwarzenberg in “Blondel.” Nancy in “Oliver” and Svetlana in “Chess” are also among her roles. Additionally, Michelle has played Lady Thiang in “The King and I.” She portrayed Felicia in “The Witches of Eastwick.” She also played Mrs Potts in Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.” Katisha in “Hot Mikado,” Golde in “Fiddler on the Roof,” and Miss Hannigan in “Annie” conclude the list.

Michelle ran and coordinated the youth drama group for Truro Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society for 6 years. This was from 2013 to 2019 on a voluntary basis. She produced and co-directed Talent Shows, “The Baker Street Irregulars,” and Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland Jr”.

Michelle is enthusiastic and passionate. She uses drama and theatre skills to help build confidence in young people of all ages and abilities.    

Research has seen the intrinsic value of drama as a platform for character building. It improves young people’s self-esteem, speaking and listening abilities, and teamwork skills.  Stagezone Youth Theatre provides the perfect opportunity to explore a young person’s creativity. It allows them to achieve a sense of accomplishment in a safe, supportive and fun environment.

Michelle is/has:-

  • a registered Chaperone with Cornwall Council and holds an Enhanced DBS Certificate,
  • an Accredited Administrator,
  • the Designated Safeguarding Lead,
  • a Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning,
  • a Level 3 Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults qualification,
  • a Level 2 AAT qualification.

Michelle has also completed several courses:-

Glenn Moses

Glenn Moses is an Assistant at Stagezone Youth Theatre.

Glenn Moses is a registered chaperone with Cornwall Council – March 2025, holds an Enhanced DBS Certificate – March 2025, is Level 3 first aid trained – June 2024, and has been involved with theatre for most of his life. 

Glenn has performed leading roles with Truro Amateur Operatic Society, including Ravenal in “Showboat”, Bernardo in “West Side Story”, King John in “Blondel”, President Roosevelt in “Annie”, Don Pedro in “Much Ado About Nothing”, Archer in “The Beaux Stratagem”, Tolloller in “Iolanthe” and Monsieur D’Arque in “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast”.

Melissa Moses

Melissa Moses is an assistant at Stagezone Youth Theatre and Deputy Safeguarding Lead.

Melissa Moses is a registered Chaperone with Cornwall Council – March 2025, holds an Enhanced DBS Certificate – March 2025, is paediatric first aid trained – 2024, and has a Level 2 EYP Apprenticeship Qualification. Melissa also has a Basic Awareness in Safeguarding Children qualification – 2022 and is the deputy safeguarding lead for Stagezone.

Melissa has been involved with the theatre all of her life, and has been a member of Playrite Theatre, Truro YoungStagers, and Redruth Operatic and Dramatic Society.  Melissa has performed in productions at The Hall for Cornwall in Truro, The Minack Theatre in Porthcurno, The Burrell Theatre in Truro, Redannick Theatre in Truro, and The Keay Theatre in St Austell.

Alana Moses

Alana Moses is an assistant at Stagezone Youth Theatre and Creative Director.

Alana Moses is a registered Chaperone with Cornwall Council – March 2023, holds an Enhanced DBS Certificate – March 2023 and is basic first aid trained. Alana is a Creative Director at Stagezone.

Alana has been involved with music and the theatre all of her life, and has been a member of Playrite Theatre, Truro YoungStagers and Redruth Operatic and Dramatic Society. Alana has performed in productions at The Hall for Cornwall in Truro, The Minack Theate in Porthcurno, The Burrell Theatre in Truro, Redannick Theatre in Truro, and the Keay Theatre in St Austell.

Alana has a merit Level 3 Diploma qualification in popular music and she has her own audio interface equipped with DAW software. She has recently released her first album “Silver Flame” on Spotify, ITunes and other streaming platforms.

Regan Archer

Regan Archer is a Registered Chaperone with Cornwall Council – May 2025, and holds an up-to-date Enhanced DBS Certificate. Regan has experience working in a secondary education setting and supports Stagezone by assisting with photography and helping to ensure the safety and well-being of the children.

Regan has previously supported quieter or less confident children in building self-esteem through video games and creative engagement.

With a strong interest in the Arts, Regan is committed to supporting Michelle and the Stagezone team in helping young people develop confidence that will stay with them throughout life.
